Orange Beach, Alabama or OBA, has become one of the most popular vacation destinations in Alabama and it is easy to see why. Gorgeous, sugar white sand beaches, bright blue-green waters and some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets you will ever see, all in one place.
Orange Beach is a great beach town, but it is also becoming a place to live for year ’round residents. Condominiums are in high demand for family vacations and real estate investors. Many owners rent their condos out to vacationers and bring in $20,000.00 to $30,000.00 a year to help offset their mortgages and condo association fees.
Orange Beach has hundreds of condos for sale ranging from around $150,000 into the millions of dollars. Some condos are small, one or two stories complexes while others are beautiful towers of 20 stories or more. Most condos have swimming pools, while others offer exercise gyms, tennis courts and lazy rivers. Association fees vary greatly and should be considered when pricing a condominium.

Things to do in Orange Beach
You’ll never run out of things to do in Orange Beach. If you like relaxing in the sun either pool-side or on the beach, it doesn’t get much better than Orange Beach. Our climate is warm enough that you can almost always enjoy the outdoors. The water may be a little cold for most from November through February, but you can take enjoyable walks on the beach every month of the year.

- Alvin’s Adventure Island – mini-golf, go-carts, arcade, laser tag and bumper boats
- Dolphin Cruises – there are a number of boats providing tours where you will see dolphins up close and personal
- Hike the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail – see one of the last remaining maritime forests in Alabama and native wildlife, maybe even an alligator
- The Wharf at Orange Beach – the only Ferris Wheel at the Gulf, a night-time laser show, shopping and ziplines
- Paddle Sports – there are a number of outfitters providing kayak and paddle-board rentals
- The Orange Beach Store – beautifully designed souvenirs
The Orange Beach Housing and Condo Market

The Orange Beach housing market is currently a buyer’s market, meaning there are more homes for sale than there are buyers searching for homes or condos. This usually translates to being more advantageous for those buying homes than those selling homes. But there are always exceptions.
The median asking price for an Orange Beach condo or home was $455,000 while the median price of homes sold was $437,500 or about 4% off the asking price. The average listing price per square foot was $327.
In October 2018 the housing market in Orange Beach, AL is a buyer’s market, which means there are roughly more active homes for sale than there are buyers. Buyer’s markets are generally more advantageous for buyers rather than sellers.

Though condos are the most visible of places to live in Orange Beach, there are actually plenty of single family residences in Orange Beach. Many of these homes are waterfront, while others are only a few minutes walk away from the water. The Bear Point community even has parks, piers and a boat launch for property owners.
